Paper submission

Submission guidelines

    The accepted papers will be published in "Procedia Structural Integrity", a new open access Elsevier publication focusing entirely on publishing conference proceedings, thanks to the support by the European Structural Integrity Society (ESIS). Each issue of Procedia Structural Integrity will be submitted to Scopus  (indexing upon approval by the Scopus advisory board), EI Compendex (indexing upon approval of the EI Compendex advisory board) and Web of Science CPCI  (indexing upon approval of the Web of Science advisory board).

    A number of papers selected by the scientific Advisory Committee will appear in a Special Issue of International Journal of Fatigue.

    Deadline for submission of papers to appear on Procedia Structural Integrity: July 10th, 2017.


      Submission Guidelines

      When you will prepare the conference paper, please, follow strictly the template provided by Procedia Structural Integrity and remember that:

      1.    The papers will be published about two months after the conference
      2.    The authors should make all reasonable efforts to ensure that the conference papers are original and previously unpublished.
      3.    Each paper shall consist of a minimum of Three (3) pages and a maximum of Eight (8) pages.
      4.    Both editable files (e.g., Word, LaTeX) and pdf file should be submitted (both formats are mandatory)
      5.    All manuscripts that reach the required minimum standards are subject to peer review by two referees to ensure both accuracy and relevance, and revision to the manuscript may thus be required.
      6.    Upon acceptance of the article, authors will be asked to complete a 'Copyright Agreement'. An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with a ‘Copyright Agreement' form or a link to the online version of this agreement.
      7.    Fees include the publication of one paper on the dedicated issue of Procedia Structural Integrity. Participants will be allowed to submit supplementary papers, but with the following conditions: each supplementary paper will imply a fees increase of 30 euros/paper (publication cost contribution). Only one presentation per author will be guaranteed.

      To make sure to get your paper published, you must register and pay the conference fee.

      Paper submission

      1.    Registration for paper submission

      To submit a paper you must be registered to the online E.K.O. (Events Kit Organiser) Polimi website. You should have already received your login Person Code via email.  To complete the registration:

      1.    Locate the email from with subject “Registration confirmation request” containing your Person Code and the activation link to set your password. (If you cannot locate the email, please contact us at
      2.    Please note: the activation link will expire after 30 days since you received the email.
      3.    Follow the instruction to confirm the request and obtain the password (the date of birth you should enter is 31/12/2000).
      4.    Login to the Conference Website
      5.    You will be allowed to start the submission procedure the day after the first access to E.K.O

      2.    Submission procedure

      1.    Bundle all files, editable files (e.g., Word, LaTeX) and pdf file, in a single archive. (For LaTeX: include LaTeX files, BibTeX files, figures, tables, all LaTeX classes and packages that are not included in TeX Templete and any other material that belongs to your manuscript)
      2.    Login to the Conference Website
      3.    Click on “Call for paper”
      4.    Start the submission process by clicking on “Step one of the submission process”
      5.    Upload the single archive file (editable files + pdf files)

      3.    Conference registration

      After the submission process is complete, please go to to complete the registration form: the data you will enter into this form will then appear onto the final invoice for Symposium attendance.
